Hi! I’m Juliette Tinnus, an artist who in 2022 moved from Berkeley, San Francisco Bay Area (California) to Munich, Germany.
Having a degree in Fine Arts and in Media Economy (both from Germany), I’ve worked as a photographer for most of my life.
I’ve always felt passionate about handmade aesthetics as they reflect the soul of their creator.
“Handmade” always had a strong appeal to me. As a photographer I would passionately arrange my still life composition with real, tactile materials and it was no surprise that I fell in love with pottery, which is - even when sometimes messy - the essence of tactility: raw materials shaped into form, style, and function.
Another aspect that fascinates me about ceramics is it’s nature and history.
It’s meant to be used, it’s meant to last, it was and is used as a canvas for stories, decors and cultural artifacts.
It has accompanied humans since the earliest times - and has continued to captivate us until this day, in this modern world.
Pottery is simply timeless.
I hope you enjoy holding a handmade piece of fired clay in your hands as much as I do.
It brings me joy and serenity.
